Role of Family Medicine in Reducing Burden from Tertiary Care Hospital

Tertiary care hospitals play a vital role in providing specialized medical services for complicated health conditions. However, tertiary care hospitals often face increase patient loads that leads to long wait times specially for procedures, increased healthcare costs, and increase burden on medical professionals. One of the most effective way to deal with this increase patient burden is to strengthening family medicine. Family medicine serves as the first point of contact for patients, that provides comprehensive and continuous care that leads to reduction in burden on tertiary care hospital but preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and optimizes healthcare resources.
